Superbowl Appetizers.

Try one of these family tested recipes to kick off your supperbowl party!

Sausage Wontons Stars

1 # Nitsches bulk pork sausage    

½ med green pepper, chopped          ½ med. red pepper, chopped

2 C. shredded Colby cheese               2 bunches green onion, sliced

 1 pkg. (12 oz.) wonton wrappers      ½ C. ranch dressing

      Lightly press wonton wrappers onto bottom and up the sides of greased miniature muffin cups. Bake at 350 f. for 5 min, or until edges are browned. In lg. skillet, cook sausage over med. heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in cheese, peppers, onions, and salad dressing. Spoon rounded tablespoonful into each wonton cup. Bake for 6-7 min or until heated through. Makes about 4 dz.

Kiel Family Kielbasa

4# Nitsches Fresh kielbasa

2 liter vernors

2 C. or so brown sugar

Place kielbasa in 9X13 pan. Pour enough Vernors just to cover sausage. Sprinkle 1 C. brown sausage over all. Cover & Bake at  350 f. for 4 hours. Every hour or so turn sausage and add 1/2C. brown sugar and more Vernors if need. Cut up into pieces and place in crock pot, add more Vernors to make sauce juicy. Recipe can accommodate more sausage as well.

Cheeseburger Quiche

1  9in deep Pie Crust                     2 Tbs Flour

1#NItsche's Ground Round            4 Eggs

1/3 C Chopped Onion                     1/4 tsp. Pepper

1/2 C Mayo                                      1/2tsp. Salt

1/2 C Skim Milk                               1/4tsp Dried Oregeno

6Oz Shredde Cheddar Cheese

Preheat oven to 350f. In a skillet brown the ground beef and onions, drain, and set aside. In a bowl beat the eggs till frothy then whick in mayo, milk, flour and seasonings. Stir the egg mixture into the beef and inoins. Stir together and then pour into pie shell. Bake at 350f. for 40-50 minutes until eggs are firm. Allow to stand for 5 minutes before cutting. 

Optional: add in some crumbled bacon pieces.

Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

1# Thinly sliced Steak (we suggest delmonico)

1/2 Grean Pepper thinly sliced

1/2 Red Pepper thinly Sliced

8 Sliced of American Cheese

1/2 a stick of Land o Lakes Garlic Butter

1/2 French Baguette. Sliced into 1" Pieces

      *Or 3 of Our Garlic Rolls cut into 1" Pieces

2Tbs. Butter

Salt & Pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 400f. Spray 9" baking dish with cooking spray. Lightly spread butter on each side of bread and place into bottom of baking dish, Press in as many as you can. Top bread with 4 slices of American Cheese and bake in preheated oven for 5-7 minutes. 

Meanwhile, melt 1 Tbs of butter in a skillet over med-high heat and add peppers with a pinch of salt, stir and then cover and reduce heat. Cook for 3-5 minutes. Pour peppers onto bread and cheese.

Next: return skillet to med-high heat. Melt 1 Tbs of butter and add sliced steak, salt and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Top the veggies, cheese and bread with your steak evenly. Add 4 remaining slices of Cheese to the top and bake at 425f for 5-7 minutes. 

Kielbasa with Potatoes and Peppers

1 pair smoked Kielbasa from Nitsches Meats: diced

1 Tbs. Oil

6 med. Red potatoes, diced

1 red bell pepper sliced 1 yellow pepper sliced

Opt: 1 onion diced

Heat oil in lg. Skillet over med. heat. Place Kielbasa and potatoes in skillet, cover and cook 25 min. or until potatoes are tender. Mix peppers into sauce pan and continue cooking until peppers tender. About 5 more min.

 

Slow Cooker Rueben Dip

1(16oz) jar sauerkraut, drained

1(8oz)  pkg. cream cheese softened

2 C. shredded Swiss cheese

2 C. shredded corned beef( lunchmeat is fine)

¼ C. thousand Island dressing

      In slow cooker combine sauerkraut , cream cheese Swiss cheese, corned beef & thousand island dressing. Cover & cook on high 45 min. if in hurry. Or low for longerlike1-2 hours. Just until hot and all cheese is melted. Stir occasionally while cooking. Serve with crackers or cocktail rye.

Mandarin Orange Chicken Salad

3 C. diced cooked chicken

1 C. diced celery

2 Tbs. lemon juice

1 Tbs. finely chopped onion

¾ C. mayo

1(11oz) can mandarin oranges

1 C. seedless grapes halved

1 tsp. lemon pepper

½ C chopped pecans, toasted

Combine all ingredients, except pecans and mix well. Cover and chill 1-2 hours. Fold in pecans just before serving

 

Knorr Parma Rosa Chicken

4 Boneless sknls. Chicken Breasts

1/2tsp Italian Seasoning                 1Tbs Olive Oil

1 Pkg. Knorr Parma Rosa Sauce Mix

1 1/4 C Milk                                     1 Tbs. Butter

4 Thick Slices of Tomato                 4 Slices  Mozzarella

Heat oil in skillet. Meanwhile sprinkle chicken with seasoning. Add to skillet and brown both side, about 5-8 minutes per side. Place chicken in baking dish and set aside. Prepare Parma Rosa sauce in same pan according to directions with the milk and butter. Pour half sauce over chicken then layer tomatoes then cheese on each breast of chicken and pour remaining sauce over the whole pan. Cover and bake at 350f for 10-15 minutes.

Chili Dog Casserole
 
 
Chili Dog Casserole

2 (15oz) Cans Chili with or without beans

1# Nitsches Hot Dogs                      8 (8in) Flour Tortillas

8oz Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Preheat oven to 425f. Spread 1 can of Chili on bottom of 9x13 dish. Roll up hot dogs in the tortillas and place in baking dish, seam side down. Top with remaining chili and sprinkle with cheese. Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
